I am originally from Virginia and grew up outside of Richmond. I graduated from Hopewell High School in 1992 and attended East Carolina University. While at ECU, I was a member of the Marching Pirates and studied Music Education. I graduated from ECU in 1996.
Upon graduation, I taught high school band in Yorktown, VA for three years before returning to East Carolina to attend graduate school. While in graduate school I taught the ECU Concert Band and assisted in teaching the Marching Pirates. I also taught music appreciation at Pitt Community College.
